Hey guys, This topic has been opened so that people can create characters or even just come up with some ideas for awesome abilities. The main reason for this is because during game nights we lack proper time to fully design characters from scratch, so often people can't make characters to their liking. By posting ideas on here it gives us a chance to come up with the basic design for characters which you can perfect on the day so we maximize play time.

Ok due to lack of participation under this topic, probably due to no one knowing what is going on, I?ve decided to get the ball rolling by creating some characters for any Friday BESM campaigns we end up running. The first of which will be this Friday assuming people are interested in which case post so I know if I need to spend time coming up with ideas for missions and stuff while I?m on the train. (if we don't end up role playing which is highly unlikely due to the amount of fun it is, then just ignore this topic)
Also under this section I?ll also provide more information about making characters to try to make it easier for people to come up with ideas.

First of all I know most people don?t have a copy of the book, I know this because of how hard it was for me to acquire a copy of it. But you don?t need a book to come up with characters. The wonders of the BESM system is that anything you can think of can be made. Flying, mutating limbs, control over animals, mecha hybrids even things like combat puppets and swords that can shape shift in to different weapons are possible. Simply put, if you can dream it we can build it.
A couple reasons that you should post here are that
Characters that I have made so far are very stock characters, people have a hard time playing as them because they don?t really know what the character was originally intended to be like.
Due to the lack of time we have during Friday night games, character creation is often rushed, so people don?t get the chance to personalise their characters with abilities that they may like to have.
Also the final incentive to post some info on what you would like, unless you tell us what you would like under this topic you will most likely be stuck with what ever pre-made character are left and will have little to no customization opportunity before we start.

Ok I have created 8 characters so far for Fridays
They are divided in two classes
Standard Characters
Unique Characters

A standard character is best described as human in form and/or ability. Examples would be fighters, wizards, thieves ? so forth and so on.
These characters have most of their points spread through the abilities of their class, such as extra mana for wizards, or stealing and lock picking skills for thieves. They also may have a minor ?unique? ability such as temporary invisibly, or access to a pocket dimension for large item storage. These characters tend to be safe for anyone to play as because they don?t have any major flaws.

A unique character is a character that is exceedingly different from standard humans. Some examples would be ghosts, robots, shape changers. Unique characters tend to have most of their points spent within one or two abilities. These abilities tend to be very broad in use, such as a ghost?s lack of physical body allowing them to pass through walls and avoid damage from weapons, or a robot?s super human strength and endurance. Their abilities are powerful but often come with draw backs such as ghosts being extra vulnerable to magic. These characters tend to be harder to play as but produce exciting situations and varied game play.

This is just an outline of how I dived up my characters, if you are interested in coming up with an idea for a character, start by decide which of these two categories your character would fall under.

Next, think up what abilities you would like to have. Plant control, Fire breath, spider body, pet robot, ability to make rabbits appear from a hat, huge wang, you get what I mean

Then think up what type of world they world they would be in. Example a high school kid interested in microbes wouldn?t be in a demon world. This way i have an idea of what campaign we may play next aka what campaign we?ll be playing next since you took the time to write to me you get preference.

Finally write some back story if you are that interested in it (and you will get bonus points if you do) and then post it on the forum or private message me if it is that embarrassing.

Some other info about my character is _________________________________________________________________

My forum name is ______ I look sort of like _____. {Note: this is important so I know who?s character I?m making because if you?re not part of the club it?s not happening}
Finally answer the following
What natural metal has the highest melting point _____.

Ok now that yu know how to make character i'll breifly outline the pre mades i have come up with for friday (aka the characters you will be stuck with if you don't tell me what you want on the forum)

Ok i've got 4 stock characters
Warrior: Have a guess. thats right physical kind of guy. Has many combat related abilities including massive dmage and Extra defence. The unique feature is the Overpower sword wich will most likely insta kill anything

Wizard: Yes thats right magic. though not good physical stats and abilities, makes up for it using powerful magic and various different elements. Unique ability is access to a pocket dimention

Theif: Damn your stupid, the hideing and stabbing type, Abilities include safe cracking and silent movement. Can go invisible for a short period of time.

Healer: Winner, the most useful character out of all of them. Can heal and call for help from powerful gods. has a pet golem with good physical stats to make up for the healer's lack of strength.

moving on i've got 4 Unique characters
Alternative form: this character can become a human tourch, with additional abilities in their fire form. can attack with flames and hurt any one that comes close. Weakness to water attacks

Shape changer: has complete control over shape and can turn in to anyone. the only draw back is a lack of attacks due to running out of points, but to be truthful this character is probaly the most useful.

Robot: A robot that has a human mind. has huge strength and endurence, also has missle packs and particle beams as weapons. weak to electric and water.

Ghost: this character lacks physical form aka can't be hit by swords and bullets, the major draw back is a weaness to magic. And a minor draw back is that it can't touch, pick up or feel anything making it completly useless at everything. most likely the most useless character out of all of them. if you get stuck with this character you know you fuck up.


anyway now you are all equiped with the knowlage to make your own characters, so start working something... fuck this i'm sick of typing work it out ur self

I have something of an idea of what I would like to play. Going for a unique character.

Going for a ranger half-cat half-man theme. He'll be proficient using bows or guns (most likely guns if they exist). Has a keen sense of smell and ability to track and all round hunter.

Looks something similiar to this.

sorry to anyone who has read the entire thing so far and found it really aggressive, it was a lot to write and i was not having the best of days, take anything that's overly aggressive with a grain of salt, and a lot of the stuff you can just do what ever reguardless of what i wrote (PMing and stuff) character making is ment to be fun. aka everyone taking abilities to counter act other player's abilities because of paranoia. you can post using that template for a good laugh, it will be warmly received. A lot of the stuff in there is writen as a worst case seniro and we'll try to make it as fun as possible for everyone who wants to play. The main reason for this post is that we only will get about 8 i think chances to do role play since we introduced the free play nights, and they will end up being a month apart, so i wanted to be able to start some thing as soon as possible.

also just because i don't think i mentioned it, but the premades i designed are all made to have 50 extra points for customisation so, you can fix up anything that doesn't really suit you well or add in aditional abilities to your likeing.
all premades are 250 points consisting of 150 on stats and 100 on ablities, you get an extra 50 (for a total of 300) to customise with. Once again sorry for anything that offends you.

Just ordered Ex Machina (Tri-Stat DX system) from eBay from a respected boardgame seller's account.
For those that don't know it is a cyberpunk game similar to shadowrun, but running on the Tri-Stat DX system and fairly cut down. But since it is tri-stat you can pretty much make whatever you want with it.

So if anyone is interested in running a game I will have a copy of the book soon(ish). I'll probably run at least a short mission based campaign sometime as well.
