Can someone please tell me the dates when the club will be taking members on week zero? I might not be a regular at geelong let alone to the nights so I will have to do close to 5 hours [not kidding] travel to get to geelong to join up. And before any of you say check the dusa website I have and can't find jack!

Update from Waterfront.
1 returning member. 1 Semi-returning member. She signed up last year, but didn't get any info on what was happening so didn't turn up. 2 new members. All DUSA members. Also interest from about 5 people who took an information pack (which I added the website and forum address to) -------------------- Some twenty years ago, the gods put down their feet, So firmly in to the ground that no man of sword nor pen, could ever change the rules upon which The very fundament of metal was made. --The Book of Heavy Metal Hold your head up high, Raise your fist up in the air Play metal, Louder than Hell! --Die for Metal |

Once again thanks Dean for taking care of Waterfront.
See, the difference this year is that we're organised, so we'll actually have new members stay! -------------------- - TheHeadSage

According to Deakin we are now an acting troupe.

Yeah about that. I was thinking it would be so much better if we did live performances of all episodes of Pokemon. It'd be soo kewl
I don't think I really want to know how they stuffed that one up. It's "The Deakin Advantage". Even though they've changed their slogan it still holds up. -------------------- "We aren't men disguised as dogs. We're wolves disguised as men." -- Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade

Well, what lead to that is that I got a call from some woman who's looking for an acting group to put on a small kids play, and somehow she got my number from Deakin, thinking that we are an acting troop.
I pretty much told her that unless she wants the kids to learn how to swear and how to appreciate a good insult she should look somewhere else. -------------------- - TheHeadSage

I should be there tomorrow... I made some big signs to grab people's attention.. ("FREE ANIME SCREENINGS" & "FREE GAMING EVENTS")..
It's been a while since I've been to Clubs and Signup Day.. Should be fun.. -------------------- "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."

Update from Waurn Ponds.
About 25 members (sage has accurate details) not counting council members. 90% DUSA members. Plus a bit of interest with people probably turning up to some nights. Looks like people who are into Warhammer have a large group to call upon this year. -------------------- Some twenty years ago, the gods put down their feet, So firmly in to the ground that no man of sword nor pen, could ever change the rules upon which The very fundament of metal was made. --The Book of Heavy Metal Hold your head up high, Raise your fist up in the air Play metal, Louder than Hell! --Die for Metal |

I just got an invite to the deakin IT community website (nubits).. Went to check out the forums (which is only readable by users unfortunately).. One of the students who is doing the games design course posted a thread asking if people were interested in possibly starting an informal games club at Geelong (with Lan's and whatnot).. There were a few comments with people interested in doing stuff (especially Lan's).
Anyway, I just posted a comment letting them know about our club.. and that we run video games night.. Who knows, they might like anime too.. -------------------- "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."

There has been a couple of clubs that have tried lan gaming as their focus. Not sure how they turned out. I think the first one started when we did, and the second one started up 2 or 3 years ago.

26 Members signed up at the moment. So, removing the Council/Peanut Gallery it's about 22.
