I thought it would be a good idea to have a general movie thread.. People can discuss about any movies that are coming out... or movies that they just saw and want to give their feedbacks and whatnot..

Here are some of the other movie related threads..

The Transformers Movie thread - discussion on all things Transformers movie related..
The Last Airbender - movie coming out in 2010
Upcoming Super Films - discusion on all the Super Heroes movies planned

I just saw Year One starring JAck Black and the guy from Superbad.. I thought it was an ok movie.. There were alot of interesting biblical references... Also, being a Harold Ramis film there were alot of humour.. It's just that it's not my kind of humour.. The storyline was good.. 3.5 stars out of 5

Also, I saw The Hangover a week ago.. A really great and funny movie.. I highly recommend everyone go see it... 4.5 out of 5!

I finish off with a trailer I saw tonight at the cinemas.. This looks really awesome..

Once every couple of weeks I go out on a movie binge and rent half dozen movies from my local Video Ezy store. Most of the movies I grab are horror and eastern eye.

There are a few movies I'd recommend, if I can only remember what they were.

If you're as much as a freak as I am, I highly recommend Tokyo Gore Police. It's not my absolute favourite film but the black humour and goriness is well worth it.

District 13 is an awesome action film and shows why parkour was invented by the french. I'm pretty sure the stunts are done without wires or CGI, kinda like Ong-Bak

New films that look good in their shorts:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sQhTVz5IjQ...feature=channel

Inglourious Basterds

It actually looks awesome. Traditional blood/gore fest in the works I think from Quentin Tarantino.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZnpzfcMheA

District 9

Interesting, not sure how this one will go but a new spin (at least for Hollywood) on aliens.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMhgI83ny54...feature=related

PANDORUM

From the makers of Resident evil, looks good. Has a hint of t-zombies in space about it but probably not.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyCCd8MCcZY...feature=channel

2012

Eye candy. Not much of a plot but you don't care. I did laugh when the USS John. F. Kennedy(super carrier) took out the Whitehouse.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS9jv8ejIgY...feature=channel

Mutant Chronicles

Looks like fun. No Idea how good it will actually be, but is has John Malkovich so...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV5ukdJFGJQ...feature=channel

Blood: The Last Vampire(live action)

Heard about this one a few years back, but now its done and coming out. And it looks good, surprisingly so. Really Good. But seriously if, as a film maker, you screw up teenage(looking) monster killer as a plot you should be shot.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=071KqJu7WVo...feature=channel

Zombieland

Bill Murry is not dead yet. Apparently he's making zombie comedy movies, as a zombie. Seems to be a cameo as Woody Harrelson is leading man. Doesn't look too bad.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-REviL75zg...feature=channel

Drag Me To Hell

Horror movie. Looks interesting, apparently already leaked to the net.

I've heard some really good things about Drag Me to Hell. Almost too much, which makes me not want to see it cause I don't want to be disappointed.
Its also written and directed by Sam Raimi with some help from his brother Ivan. Its supposed to be a return to his Evil Dead days without all the comedy. Which means I really don't want to be disappointed with it.

I don't think it was leaked to the net, it was unveiled at Cannes and went to theaters in America.

Without giving anything away care to say why?

I'm keen on seeing it sometime soon as I enjoyed The Evil Dead series.

I don't need to see it at the cinemas, but I do want to see it.

I'm with Fonzie, if you won't give anything away, why didn't you like it?
I've heard plenty of good things about it from sources I trust, so I'm looking forward to it.

I don't care what this movie is about, I need to see it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Expendables_(2010_film)
Take a look at that cast. It's almost perfect.

Unfortunately they are leaning towards PG-13. But filming a PG-13 and an R rated version.

As dean pointed out to me this really should be in here, but I thought it deserved its own thread too. Maybe I'm biased...

Who's going to see Avatar?

I'm hearing from alot of people that it's very good but I dislike going to the cinema on my own.

Avatar in 3D is a must see, not for the Disney-esk story line but for the awesome visuals. Also who is interested in seeing Sherlock Holmes?

Just found out there is a sequel to The Storm Riders called The Storm Warriors. And it is coming out here to cinemas (only in Melbourne though)
Anyone up for it?
