If you've been to the rest of the site you've probably seen that OWeek is next week (we'll be taking signups) and the welcome night is on the 5th in LT1.
Hopefully you'll be able to come along as all the relevant information about the year will be gone through and we have starter packs to give you info on what we do and when it is on (pretty much every friday is something)

Yay! I just started playing MTG, I love Zombies (the game), Twilight Imperium, Descent etc

I don't play nearly enough games and only really got in touch with my nerdy side in the last year or two, but I enjoy Diablo 2, NFSU2 (yeah I know I'm old school) and I do have a WoW account but it's more of a sporadic thing for me, no lv 80s on the horizon just yet! Growing up I loved Creatures 1/2/3 and, Commander Keen (I have this somewhere if anyone feels like a trip down memory lane), the incredible machine etc etc - I'm a bit sentimental and a massive n00b with newer games. I love LANs though

As for Anime, I've just started watching most of it, such as GIS, Akira, etc. but was a big fan of Dragonball/Z growing up. I love a bit of Avatar as well here and there, not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing A few of my mates are trying to educate me on anime and I've got myself some epd of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan and Naruto but haven't had a chance to watch them just yet. (No tentacles!! >.<)

I love cars - particularly import cars! You will probably see me kicking around campus in my horrendously riced up hatch.......yes, shameful. One day I'll have a nice fancy sports cars!

I have a few job trials going but hopefully I'll be free on Friday - what is the plan for that night? I'll see you all on Monday

Sounds to me like you have been a part of this club for a while . We play Zombies, Archom of Horror, Battle star galactica and a few other board games. Most of the club members are into old school video games ala Commander Keen etc and we have regular LAN?s.

As for anime we will be providing you with guidance considering most of us have been into anime since the early 90?s o and one other note forget about Naruto and get yourself into One Piece. Naruto is a poor man?s DragonBall/ Z which shoud be abolished from the face of the planet.

There is no event this Friday (26th) If you are at Warn ponds then you will see most of us on Tuesday rather than Monday as Monday is clubs and markets day at Waterfront campus.

I've usally got a magic deck with me and I am always up for a game. We also play WOW TCG, usually against Raid Decks, it's kinda like magic.

Do you have a copy of Twilight Imperium?
I'd love to give it a go. It's too expensive to just go out and buy without trying.

Unfortunately not - it belongs to a mate of mine, but I might save up and get it one day, when I'm not completely broke

I think Mind Games have it for about 120 in the city?

Yeah, its about $120-140, which is too much to buy without trying.
I think I'll like it, but its supposed to be pretty long, and not sure how often I'd get to play it.

Game play is usually around 8+ hours when we play it, so yeah

Yeah, it is big.

Some people say they can get it down to 4-6hrs with a couple less players and lots of optimising, but generally its 6-8.
It's made by Fantasy Flight Games (at least 3rd Ed is), and they like long games. Think Arkham, Starcraft etc, but longer.

At least it's not Adv. Civ which is 12+

I think we have] If you can explain neon genesis then please do if not Miy will cry but seriously its nice to see another non-computer student here, as you might guess more then half of us do computer science in some way e.g: gaming, programing etc.

What's there to understand to with Neon Genesis? Don't do drugs


I want to see this riced up hatch of yours mostly to see what you can do to a hatch. I don't know much about cars but that doesn't mean I don't like looking at them. Especially ones that can go very fast with super loud sound systems.

You have a point Fronzie, One would needed to be on some kind of drug to envision that.

No not really just that some people like to have things explained and they club dose what it can to help. Also NGE is cool, my first dvd was NGE.

yeah, you guys have another psychology student, me (the person who signs up every year but always manages to get a job/get distracted/have raid night changed on me half-way thought the year and stops showing up) well, ex-psychology student. I am now games design and development, but i do have my Psych major so that has to count for something right??

Heh, it must be a psych student thing. I flaked and missed Tuesday and just realised that I was meant to be in G-Town tonight....after I drove the 130km back home. Damn! How do I sign up if I missed Tuesday, and where do we meet? I'm moving down soon so hopefully I'll have more of a presence. And here's my Tokyo Drift spec car
